acorns hospice

The words ‘Terminally ill’ and ‘Child’ should never have to be used in the same sentence, but it’s a sad fact of life that from time to time they are. So for that reason, on Sunday 22nd September I shall be jumping out of an aeroplane, at a height of 10,000 feet, in the hope of raising money for the Acorns Children’s Hospice Trust. It currently costs £750.00 to provide care for one child for just one day, and Acorns is currently providing respite care and support for 640 life-limited children and their families. Just one hour of care for an individual child costs £31.00.

So, even though I am a Hypertensive, Fifty-Something Grandmother, my ‘Leap of Faith’ will see me plummeting towards the ground at speeds of over 120 miles per hour, in the hope of raising money for this incredibly worthwhile cause. The closest I have ever come to doing anything like this before, is paragliding on holiday a couple of years ago, plus a few minutes spent floating in an indoor wind tunnel!

Every single penny that I manage to raise will go towards my donation target of £750.00, so please PLEASE dig as deep as you can to help me to achieve this goal – £1 or £100, every penny counts! Thank you, thank you, thank you, on behalf of every child and family who rely on the care and support that Acorns Hospice can offer them.
